About Naja Hardmon:
My practice began with a simple, playful intent—capturing silly moments with friends. Over time, it transformed into something more personally profound: a dedication to documenting walking and breathing inspirations. You can't walk a mile in someone else's shoes, which rings true in every station of life. That's why I focus on championing the ordinary person.
I started 2016 as a street photographer, capturing intimate moments of myself and my family. I took pride in documenting my everyday life at an HBCU, especially as someone who preferred to stay behind the lens but deeply respected the power of speaking out. In 2020, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, intending to support artists from all walks of life.
My journey has included assisting galleries and working closely with artists; now, as I serve my community as a curator, I still hold onto the idea of letting moments and people breathe as they are. For me, my practice is a testament to the belief that the present time is always the right time.
